SAMY was born in London, England, moved to Tokyo and was raised in Los Angeles. He graduated from the University of Colorado at Boulder, Upon graduating, he got a job at the Winter Olympics in Torino, Italy working as a studio cameraman for the Today Show. He returned to Los Angeles and transitioned to the world of commercials working at the editorial shop, Spotwelders.

After honing his skills as an editor, Samy successfully turned to production working with some of the top production shops in the country. During his time at Anonymous Content and RESET, he served as a creative assistant to prominent directors such as Andrew Douglas, Garth Davis and Guy Ritchie. He’s since gone onto write and direct numerous projects including working alongside commercial director Andrew Douglas on the Bryan Singer produced feature film, uwantme2killhim?, where he directed the film’s second unit. Samy’s web film for Santander Bank and work for Vitamin Water were both award winners at Cannes. Most recently, he collaborated with BBH/LA on their Google Play ad and U2 for their recent Super Bowl spot for (RED) and Bank of America and was the content director filmmaker & photographer of U2’s 2015 Worldwide tour.
