Rafael worked as an art director in advertising for 6 years in Madrid & London (Young & Rubicam, Delete London and Remo Asatsu)

After graduating in 2008 with a MA in Communication Design at Central Saint Martins College of Art, specializing in moving image and digital media – he founded Watergun, a director’s collective based in London, Madrid and Los Angeles. Since then, he’s been directing music videos (Saint Saviour, The Other Tribe, Unicorn Kid) and commercials (Coca-Cola, Adidas, Intel, The Weather Channel) and his first short film called “The Hummingbird”.

Rafa’s projects have won awards and recognition at the East End Film Festival in London, Edinburgh International Film Festival, Malaga Film Festival, Cambridge Film Festival, Ibero American Short Film Festival ABC, Aesthetica Film Festival in York, KinoFilm Manchester International Film Festival, Norwich Film Festival, International Film Festival of Patmos in Greece, Madrid Alcine Film Festival, Phink.TV Music Video Awards, MTV Europe QOOB and screened at Victoria & Albert Museum, Barbican Centre, Rich Mix London, Latitude Festival, Riverside Studios, LeeFest, The Mall Galleries, Intel Remastered in London and Manchester, TENT at London Design Festival, ShellsuitZombie, The Book Club and Dalston Roof Park.

Rafa applies his directing, writing, art direction and motion graphic skills to multimedia projects on a varied range of platforms for advertising agencies and brands.
